We hired Clear View Window Film Solutions to help reduce sun damage from direct and indirect light that comes in large windows in several of our rooms. I was referred to them by a very satisfied customer who works in the furniture and home styling industry. We are extremely happy with the entire situation. I was also impressed that they do a lot of work for UVA's buildings.Darin was great. He looked at the situation and was able to explain my different choices very clearly. He left samples on my windows so that I had plenty of time to decide.The team showed up exactly when they were scheduled to. They were efficient, professional, and very quick. Also very neat. Really coud not tell that there was anything done to the windows. Practically nothing on the floor. They were done in 1/2 the time predicted. They left me with very clear instructions as to the care of the windows.They look great. Cannot tell that there is anything on them. I am writing this review only 3 days after they were placed but there is no problem. It was explained that they can take up to 30 days to "cure" but already happy with their appearance.I highly recommend this company. Would definitely use them again! Very satisfied customer .

We had a great experience with Clear View Window from start to finish. Darin responded to my request quickly and then came to our home shortly after to provided us with an on-site evaluation and estimate. We live in a townhouse with very large windows and wanted a solution that would provide privacy/heat reduction while maintaining the light and esthetic. We discussed options and made a couple of adjustments along the way.We ended up installing the privacy film on all our windows and adding a ribbed film where we wanted privacy at night as well as during the day, i.e. bathroom, closet and front door.The team that installed everything were great! Friendly, professional, fast and high quality.Five Stars!

Using this company was a very positive and seamless experience. From the time Darin Martin (the owner) came over to measure our skylights and windows and took measurements, to the time Jesse came over to install the window films, everything was professionally and politely done. Jesse respected our home and was very neat while he worked. He cleaned up everything left over from applying the window film. Jesse did not rush to complete the job - his goal was to do a great job and he definitely accomplished his goal. I recommend using the darker product if you are unsure. UPDATE: I have had the product for a month in the heat of July/August. I can tell that it keeps some heat out. I like the limiting of the brightest sunshine during the afternoon hours when I get direct sun. I strongly recommend this product and the company.

Our Richmond art gallery needed to control the UV light and heat entering our west facing windows. I needed window films to deal with a large bank of windows on the back of my home that was causing fading issues with furniture and too much heat in the summer. I contacted several providers in the area to get quotes. Many didn't respond, but Clear View responded right away -- and professionally. The sales consult at my home was informative and was handled well. He left me with samples on the window so I could get comfortable with the options and there was no pressure in the sales process. The pricing was reasonable, and the installer did a great job. I'm likely to have them back to add film to a few more windows. Would definitely recommend.

Clear View did an excellent job and I would highly recommended them. The installers arrived on time, were very professional, answered questions when I had them. They even noticed a defect in the film on one of the windows and completely removed the film and installed it again. They explained that I might see some bubbles of water near the edges of the windows gave me a tool to press out the water. It takes about 30 days for the film to cure once installed. We have only had a couple of days of bright sun since the install but I can say where the sun light comes through, there is no heat and the biggest thing is that it is protecting the furniture. While there are alot of products on the market, they recommended Huper Optik Ceramic, and after some research looking at other products, I agree it is one of the best.

Excellent service - showed up when scheduled, communicated well and pleasant/competent installers who cleaned up their workspace. the window film has greatly reduced the amount of glare from the morning and mid-day sun pouring in through two stories of windows in our home. I would definitely recommend the window tinting and I would definitely recommend ClearView.

Clear View had placed film on several of our front windows some years back. We immediately noticed the temperature change in those rooms. We now have all front windows covered and know all rooms will stay cooler. Clear View personnel are great to work with. They are very professional and have done excellent work for us.

One of our windows needed to be replaced and so did the film. I didn't think of calling anyone else but Clear View as they did a great job on the first installation - I wanted them to do it again! Our window had to be special ordered so we couldn't schedule a time well in advance. Once our window was replaced they were able to squeeze us in! If I need our shop window film replced again, Clear View will be my only call.

Donald was great to work with. He reviewed options, worked with the budget and installed quickly. The install was on old windows and he cautioned that it may be imperfect with gaps in the tinting, but it was done expertly. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to reduce light and heat.

We highly recommend Clear View Window Films for home windows. We have a 15-20 ft great room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. We bought this home for the view. However, even after putting in newer windows, there was not enough blockage from the sun coming through these southern-facing windows. The owner and his team are highly professional ensuring we had 3M film put on our windows that met our needs. They provide a very fair price, installed on time and went through the trouble of ensuring they had scaffolding to do this installation. The owner even ensure the film on these windows was registered for a long-term warranty. We could not have been more thrilled and look forward to working with them again to have the 3M film on new sliders - a different type of film (ceramic) that enhances the view as well. Excellent pricing, service for a quality product that is hard to find near Afton, Virginia.

Very impressed! Donnie came out to talk us through options as our windows have a lot of direct sunlight and were causing fading on our wood floors. He placed several samples on the window for us to try, and took the time to explain the differences. He also shared how these will help make the home more efficient by filtering the light coming in. The next really sunny morning, I tested his theory and was very impressed with the results! There was more than a 7 degree difference in the temperature of the floor with the strongest filter! We moved forward with Donnie’s suggestions using a stronger filter on the higher windows and a different filter on the lower level windows and doors. You can’t visually discern a difference. Darin and David came to do the installation- on time arrival, very professional. They had to move some furniture to get to the windows and handled with care. They left with everything back in place, and not a trace left behind. I’ve included pictures of the final product installed. I highly recommend this business. Fair prices, friendly and professional service, excellent products.

Clear View applied window tinting to an entire wall of windows at our condo in Wintergreen. We have a stunning view, but the glare made it difficult to enjoy. The folks at Clear View came out and applied a few samples for us to think about. We made a decision and installers arrived the very next week to take care of the tinting. They were on time, professional and did a great job! I would recommend their service 100 percent!

We had numerous windows tinted several years ago, to reduce UV fading of our hardwood floor and furniture. I was concerned about cats clawing at the windows and scratching the film. Although the cats do scratch at it (when they see bugs or birds or squirrels outside), I have not noticed any damage to the film. The staff arrived on time, did exactly what they said they would do, and the end result has been perfect and has lasted for several years. For this reason, when we had two of those windows replaced, I called Clear View back to apply matching tint film to the replacement windows. Again, everything went smoothly.

The entire process was fantastic! Donnie brought samples and explained the different types of film and left them up for us to see in sunny/cloudy situations. We chose Ceramic 30 from Huper Optik due to the location we were putting the film. The installers, Jobeth and David were very prompt and processional and did a wonderful job. We have a large wall of windows in our great room facing west south west, on a ridge in Nelson County with broad sun exposure due to sparse tree coverage. Beautiful, but the glare and fading were problematic. Clear View just filmed the windows, and we couldn’t be happier with the results and the price. As promised, the tint looks natural, but the glare and worries about fading are gone. The installation team was punctual, had all the scaffolding, tools and materials to complete the job efficiently. They were courteous, respectful of our furnishings and worked together beautifully. We highly recommend Clear View Window film solutions.

Excellent, excellent, excellent service. It's stunning these days to have a transaction with a company which is stress free. Add to that the extremely reasonable pricing, stellar and regular communication, and perfect execution, how could I not write a review?I had to have my old film replaced after 17 years. The original company quoted a price that was out of our ballpark. I thought I'd have to live with really awful looking windows with the old scratched and disintegrated film. I was kinda bummed. On a whim I did a search, not expecting to find much help. I contacted Clear View, and they responded quickly, came out to evaluate, explained it wasn't just the look but the actual functionality of the film which was compromised. Then he created a proposal with the best products for my needs. He didn't try and oversell. He didn't price gouge. And for twice the amount of work as the first company had quoted for, he gave me a quote a few hundred dollars less. Then he communicated consistently and thoroughly every step of the way. The person who did the work was prompt, quick, and had excellent skills. Put up with the menagerie here, too. Then there was follow up! To make sure I knew how to care for the windows properly. To make sure I was satisfied. To let me know the warranty had been submitted. All along, interactions were businesslike but very friendly, easy going, and oh so responsive.Thank you for making this a business transaction that stands out in my mind for all the very best reasons. A year after we moved into our new home in Roanoke i contacted 3M (considered the premier window film manufacturer) to find the closest Authorized Dealer. I was told it was Clear View of Charlottesville, and they would be glad to help. I called the number they gave me and Darin (owner) answered the phone. I gave him the details about our home. I told him we were over 100 miles away and he said that was no problem. He said he could come down the following week, day after Memorial Day. He measured the 44 windows and gave me a quote which I accepted. That Friday we received a detailed email from Darin telling us who would be coming, the date we had requested, what he would be bringing, what we needed to do and our payment options. A couple weeks later, Ryan, his head installer, arrived as planned and completed the job. He actually did two additional small windows in our front door at no cost. Fast forward 10+ years. I had to replace one of the windows which had a seal leak. I called Darin during the Christmas holidays and he said he would be in the Blacksburg area sometime by the first of March and he could swing by to apply film to the replacement window. It was not urgent so that was fine. During the next month or so we decided to have our storm door done as well. I called Darin--no problem. On March 1, Jobeth and a helper arrived to do both tasks. Darin had sent us an invoice by email two days earlier and told us the window was no charge. COMMITMENT and ACCOUNTABILITY! Fantastic. Everyone who has ever asked about our windows has been given Darin's name. Our home is cooler, our carpet and upholstery is in fantastic shape! Thank you.

I have had Clear View install film on windows in two houses. So, I'm a repeat customer. They use quality film and their installation crew are professional and very competent. I particularly liked that they placed three different types of film on one of my windows and left it for a week so I could see how they worked in varying lighting conditions. I highly recommend them. My house faces east and west so I had both morning and afternoon sun. Over the past 2 years I've had Clear View install tinting on the windows facing these directions plus most of the other windows. I'm very pleased with their product and installation crew.

We used Clear View's window tinting services at my restaurant, which has over 60 square feet of window frontage. For nearly FIVE years we suffered with glare in our eyes at a certain time in the afternoon and excessive heat in the summer, forcing our A/C to work harder. We have a two story home with very tall windows on the south side. We have antique Persian rugs and wanted to protect them and the fabrics on our furniture. We had Clear View install the 3M 25 on all our living room, great room and eat-in-kitchen. They did a great job and it really makes a noticeable difference in the sun exposure. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to protect your floors, furniture and fabrics. Great stuff.

I had a transom window in my Bedroom where the morning sun let quite a bit of sun & heat in. I had Clear View install a sun shield film & I love it. I can still see the beautiful trees outside & the moon, but the heat has been reflected. They are very professional. It's worth the $$!

Thrilled with the professionalism, price and results. Darin was quick to respond. Clear View tinted the skylights at a property I manage because the sun pouring through the skylights was making the apartment unbearably hot. While we have not had many sunny days since the tinting, I feel confident it is going to work beautifully! Highly recommend this company!!!

I chose to install window film at our residences after seeing, firsthand, the impact it had on reduction of interior fading and heat transfer. I chose Clear View because of their product line and reviews of other customers. All are backed by solid warranties. Blanton scheduled a visit promptly, answered all of my concerns, and provided a thorough estimate as promised. He also installed the films and we are very happy with the results. Clear View did an amazing job on our front doors and side lites as well. I wish I had taken a picture, but there aren't any bubbles or problems with the film/tint at all. They were very professional, and Darin does a great job communicated and answering emails. Highly recommended.

So good we did a second phase
The window films applied to the east and south facing windows of our new home one year ago have performed perfectly. Much heat and all UV are blocked. After a year in the house, however, we concluded that a few more windows on the west needed treatment. Since we were so pleased with the product and the service (Donnie Barret is super; the installers were great), we called again. We are looking forward to the completion of "phase II."
